![]() For the first time, Iron Kid will present its new toy at the sector’s leading trade fair, to be inaugurated today in the German city of Nuremberg. The popular TV series from the BRB Internacional workshop recently launched a successful line of toys on the market in several different countries. In Spain, Famosa is in the advanced planning stages of launching a toy line following the high sales of the action figures based on the series characters. Meanwhile, in the United States, Playmates is distributing a popular range of products based on Eon Kid – as Iron Kid is known in that country – which include vehicles and role playing. And, in Germany, CTM is developing an ample strategy around this property, whose licensing and TV rights it manages there. Set in a future world overrun by robots, Iron Kid consisted of 26 first-season episodes done in spectacular 3D with the adventures of a young boy who finds a robotic arm which gives him mysterious powers and places him at the forefront of a century old struggle between good and evil. Avidly followed by young viewers in the different markets where it is currently being broadcast – Spain, Russia, Portugal, the Middle East, Brazil, etc. -- Iron Kid has soared to new heights, especially in the USA, where since last year it has been on KidsWB! with the title Eon Kid: in fact, it has become the most-viewed series on Saturday-morning open-broadcast TV, in its time frame – at 10 a.m. – and amongst its target audience – kids from 6 to 11-, according to ratings from the last trimester of 2007. Because of all this, BRB Internacional is planning to put out a second season for 2009. |
