EM.Entertainment GmbH - February 2008

  • Production start of CGI animated fantasy/adventure series with Funkhauser Film
  • ZDF, TV2 Denmark, NRK Norway and SVT Sweden have secured broadcast rights in advance

A spectacular journey of fantasy, fun and wild adventure begins: The Australian production studio Flying Bark Productions PTY. Ltd., a subsidiary of EM.Entertainment GmbH, teams up with Copenhagen based animation studio Funkhauser Film in association with ZDF and TV2 Denmark to co-produce the CGI animated series Enyo.

The series targets eight to twelve year olds and consists of 26 episodes of 24 minutes each. Completion of the program is scheduled for fall 2009. In advance of the production start, German broadcaster ZDF, TV2 Denmark, NRK Norway and SVT Sweden have already secured broadcast rights to the new program. EM.Entertainment will handle the worldwide distribution excluding Australia, Denmark and Scandinavia.

Against a new and exciting backdrop of prehistoric beasts and shamanism, a clever and talented 12 year-old boy named Enyo who is learning to understand the language of animals, read hidden messages in nature and “see” glimpses of the future will take us on a spectacular journey of fantasy, fun and wild adventure. Meet his friends, his adopted tribe – and the sworn enemies he must defeat – as he copes with the daily trials of growing up while striving to complete his very special destiny.

Werner E. Klatten, Managing Director of EM.Entertainment, stated: “Enyo strongly underscores our strategy to push forward development and production activities. Thereby, Flying Bark Productions stands for high-quality state-of-the-art programs produced in Australia with international appeal. In 2008, the studio will deliver three other highly attractive formats with adventure series Zigby, Action/Adventure/Comedy program Master Raindrop and Comedy Zeke’s Pad.”

Michael Hefferon, Managing Director of Flying Bark Productions, is likewise thrilled: “Together with the renowned team at Funkhauser Film, the great support of our other co-production partners ZDF and TV2 Denmark as well as our extensive creative and technical capabilities at our production base Australia, we send Enyo on his exciting journey. Thereby, especially the commitment of the broadcasters at this early stage underscores the great potential of this production.”
