National Geographic Channel U.S. acquires ZDF Enterprises high-end documentaries

ZDF Enterprises - March 2008

ZDF Enterprises is delighted to announce an important sale to the National Geographic Channel U.S. (NGC-US) including two widely acclaimed China documentaries produced by Gruppe 5 Filmproduktion for ZDF and ZDF Enterprises, ‘China's Great Wall’ and ‘China's First Emperor,’ as well as ‘The Real Neanderthal Man.’

"Shot in HD and with multi-million-dollar budgets, the two China documentaries were co-produced with NGC-US’s global sister network, National Geographic Channels International, and reflect the highest standards in documentary-making,” says Fred Burcksen, ZDF Enterprises' Vice President Distribution, Merchandising and Investments. “The truly exceptional quality of these programs benefited from exclusive cooperation with China Central Television, which provided access to intriguing material, lavish sets and costumes, abundant personnel and technology. And the collaboration with NGCI ensured the highest degree of accuracy and exceptional story telling, as with any National Geographic production. 'The Real Neanderthal Man' was produced entirely in-house and includes the newest findings on one of mankind’s oldest relatives. We are utterly thrilled that National Geographic Channel is bringing these three programs to televisions across the U.S."
