VizWoz (www.vizwoz.com), the new teen virtual community, announces the launch of two new broadcast features including a virtual cinema to stream clips from select content providers and a DJ studio. These expansion plans form part of a series of new site developments to enhance its entertainment, interaction and advanced game play through innovative technology. Following a very successful UK launch on 21 March 2008, VizWoz received 394,000 chat messages and 30,500 friend list invites during the first 10 days of going live. VizWoz continues to grow at a rapid pace and to date has received close to a million screen chat messages and room movements plus 125,000 games played. With its unprecedented flash animation, advanced userface and graphics, the visual world of VizWoz is well-designed to accommodate a strong broadcast platform and enhance the entertainment values to its teen audience. The virtual cinema will open on 18 April 2008 and will form a key component in VizWoz’s on-going entertainment schedule. Opportunities are available for TV and film content providers to use VizWoz as a platform to showcase and promote their programming to a wide-reaching kids and teen audience. The special-effects driven site caters for all teen tastes and interests and in addition to film and TV, sport and fashion, music will play a key role in the entertainment mix. The launch of the DJ studio on 11 April 2008 will allow users to enter four rooms each catering for a different music style including Hip Hop, RnB, Electro House and disco. Users can select, listen and mix their own DJ tracks and meet like-minded music fans in the dedicated area on the site. VizWoz is also launching a DJ competition as part of a UK search to find ‘VizWoz DJ of the Year 2008’ tapping into the pool of musical talent amongst the youth sector. At the end of May, the online community will vote for their favourite DJ and then a prestigious panel of judges will decide who will win top prizes including a personal DJ course and a years VIP subscription to VizWoz. Daniel Laurence, Founder of VizWoz, comments; “Following an extremely successful launch, VizWoz has been brought to life by teens and their avatars who log on to meet friends, chat, play games and enjoy virtual entertainment in its most realistic form. The launch of the cinema and the DJ studio form an integral part of our on-going strategy to offer kids and teens interesting content in a stimulating, safe space. We look forward to discussing opportunities with broadcast partners and we are confident that these new features will be a big hit as part of the overall engaging visual experience.” VizWoz encompasses a host of imaginary worlds in a theme park style, offering users creative freedom for the most realistic virtual experience. The safety and moderation process is extremely advanced, provided by key word screening, artificial intelligence and human moderation. Enforcement is either automatic (3 strikes and out), or by the VizCops – the online VizWoz police force who patrol the community and will be available at any time to offer immediate assistance. VizWoz was founded by serial entrepreneur, Daniel Laurence who also successfully founded School Stickers, UK’s largest sticker company and MyStickers, UK's largest school incentive and reward initiative. |
