Elvis®,`68 Special - New STYLE GUIDE for 40th Anniversary

Copyright Promotions is thrilled to announce the release of a new style guide designed for the 40th anniversary of the famous 1968 Elvis® Special.

When the special show first aired in December 1968 it became a significant milestone in Elvis Presley’s professional career, as he had been concentrating on his film career throughout the 1960s.

The show was his first live performance in seven years and will therefore always be remembered as one of the greatest moments in rock music history. What is more, it marked the beginning of the new exciting Elvis® era.

The new style guide developed by Marianne Kittinger, Manager Design&Product Development, mirrors the special look of the original, visually stunning TV event. It provides inspiration and visual concepts for all existing and potential licensees.

“Starting point for our work was the film material of the TV broadcast”, said Kittinger. “We perceive the unique red illuminated Elvis image as a really strong picture and thus chose it as the ideal starting point.”

The style guide provides additional symbols, images and designs inspired by the „Jailhouse Rock“ of the 1968’s special show.

Compiling the style guide, the design team carefully made sure that all graphic elements fit into the overall programme. Fashion and accessories, collectables and memorabilia, household goods and art work are all cast from the same mould.
