BTHA announces 2008 Max-it Awards winners

The British Toy & Hobby Association has presented this year’s winners of the MAX-IT Awards at the annual Industry Day which took place at BAFTA, Piccadilly.

The MAX-IT Awards have been created to focus attention on excellence in the fields of design and communications across the business of hobbies, games and toys. They aim to recognise individuals and both small and large companies who have displayed outstanding innovation in 2007.

The 2008 winners in each category were as follows:

  • Best Marketing/PR Campaign: Gazillion Bubbles World Record (Evolution PR/Flair)
  • Best UK Toy: Gr8 Kit Scrap Heap Welder (Character/Evolve NPD)
  • Best Non-UK Toy: Dragonfly (Character /WowWee)
  • Best Game: Splashy the Whale (Character /Seven Towns)
  • Best Hobby: Cool Cardz Design Studio (Bang Creations/Flair)
  • Best promising new talent: Hannah Collip (Vivid Imaginations)
  • Critics Choice: Towgo the Trunki (Magmatic Ltd)
