  • France
    Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products France (NVCP) has inked a brand new deal with local toy manufacturer, Jemini, to produce SpongeBob SquarePants branded plush and car accessories. Set to launch into the market from December, the products will be available from all mass market retail outlets as well as specialist shops.
  • Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden
    In a first-ever agreement of its kind, NVCP has brokered a sub-license deal between Denmark-based, KE Mathiasen Group, and global partner, Take Two, which will see the former’s local gaming subsidiary launch Dora the Explorer branded games on Nintendo DS across the Nordic region. The two-year deal means the ‘Dora Saves the Snow Princess’ title will be available from retail outlet, Intertoys, and all videogame outlets in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden from February 2010.
  • Germany
    NVCP Germany is celebrating after scooping ‘Best License Product of the Year’ at the recent LIMA Awards for it’s innovative limited edition SpongeBob SquarePants branded cardboard boxes and courier envelopes, developed in collaboration with DHL Deutschland.
  • Israel
    NVCP is partnering with one of Israel’s biggest board game producers, Creative Toys Ltd, to launch a range of SpongeBob SquarePants branded board games aimed at boys and girls aged 4-10 years- old. The two-year deal means product will be available from all good department stores, toy shops and some super markets from this Christmas.

Programme Sales

MTV Networks International is riding high on a slew of programme sales deals around the world for its music and entertainment brands, MTV, VH1 and BET:
  • MTV’s Laguna Beach franchise goes from strength to strength with Latin America’s largest pay-TV channel Globosat (Brasil) and Finland’s MTV OY, both picking up scripted-reality series The Hills and The City, and Rustavi 2 in Georgia, also taking The City.
  • Brasil’s Globosat is set to broadcast recently launched MTV show, Nitro Circus while in Asia, QTV in Korea has purchased the first season of dating show, Double Shot at Love with Tila Tequila and Malaysia’s 8TV will air Paris Hilton’s My New Best Friend from this Winter.
  • VH1 hit series, VH1 Divas and The Fabulous Life Presents, have been picked up by SF in Switzerland and Rustavi 2 (Georgia) respectively, while the brand’s latest reality game show, The Shot, is set to launch on MTV OY in Finland.
  • A brand new deal will see season one of reality hit show Baldwin Hills and season 3 of College Hills, broadcast on South Africa’s subscription-funded terrestrial channel, MNet, for the first time in 2010.
