4Kids Entertainment International and 4Sight Licensing Solutions
Unveils Strong Line-up For Licensing International Expo 2010

Licensing International Expo - May 2010

4Kids Entertainment International and 4Sight Licensing Solutions will be presenting an impressive selection of properties at the forthcoming Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas, at its Booth #5649.

Among the brands being showcased is Dinosaur King, one of 4Kids’ hottest international properties. This animated series chronicles the adventures of Max, Rex and Zoe, known as the ‘D Team’, who search the world for dinosaur cards that have the power to bring dinosaurs back to life. The show is currently broadcasting across the UK and EMEA and the trading card game is also hugely popular. A strong licensing programme is in place across the region - Hachette Collection, Harper Collins, Signature Publishing and Egmont are some of the publishers on board, while other licences include stationery, apparel, toys, collectibles, confectionary, homeware, gifts & novelties and sporting goods.

4Kids is also showcasing Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s, the latest incarnation of the global phenomenon that continues to captivate more than 6 million boys who collect and play the trading card game. The 5D’s TCG is hugely popular across the UK and EMEA and the TV series is currently showing in the UK, Ireland, Denmark, France, Italy, Germany, Israel, Turkey and Turkish-speaking Cyprus, with deals also confirmed in Portugal, Serbia and the Middle East. In licensing terms, Upper Deck has launched a range of toys in the UK and key territories across EMEA, with other licenses in place for apparel, costumes, calendars, publishing, BTS, stationery, puzzles, fun tattoos and Lamicard games and folders.

From the 4Sight portfolio a property to be showcased at the Expo is Chicaloca, a fashion brand from licensor Project 109 that launched in South Korea in 2005 and in other territories across the world the following year. The brand represents an independent, sexy and chic attitude that embodies the mindset and lifestyle of the modern urban woman. 4Sight is representing Chicaloca across the UK, France and Belgium and has already signed Joystick Junkies for a range of fashion T-shirts. Other categories being targeted are bags, footwear, fashion accessories, stationery, health and beauty, gifts, and mobile/MP3 accessories.

Another in the 4Sight line-up is the Kennel Club and Crufts. The Kennel Club provides education and health initiatives to help dog owners across the UK to have happy and healthy dogs, as well as organising and hosting Crufts, the world’s most famous dog show. The branding strategy for the Kennel Club is to secure partners that are consistent with the organisation’s prestige and to target products at an older demographic. Crufts is marketed as a separate brand and the property is positioned as fun and entertaining, reflecting the values of the show itself and targets a younger, mass market audience. Licenses have already been signed with World Leisure Wear for apparel and Revel Mob for a Crufts iPhone app that allows users to download unique vintage photos from the show’s archives.

”We are thrilled to show such a variety of properties at the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas and we expect considerable interest from prospective partners across a wide range of categories. We are also looking forward to revealing exciting new properties in the weeks leading up to the show.” said Sandra Vauthier-Cellier, Managing Director, 4Kids Entertainment International and 4Sight Licensing Solutions.
